Food Vendor Information

Times are changing...

Agfair 2026 will see a change for food vendors and caterers with the introduction of the Food Court Expressions of Interest. The Food Court is centrally located at the heart of the Agfair site and aims to create a vibe with a flurry of food and drink choices, seating areas and live music.

The idea is to have all vendors facing inward toward the seating area, with a picket fence surrounding the circumference (behind the vendors), strung bunting across the area, chairs and tables and hay bales for seating.

Allocation of approved catering outlets and food vendors will be made from the expressions of interest received prior to 1st April, 2026. Each caterer/food outlet will be allocated a 3m frontage x 5m deep site. There will be ample space for those that require a larger space to store their truck or alike.

No exhibitor or person shall be permitted to publicly infringe the rights of the caterers approved by the Agfair Broken Hill Board, nor sell food and/or drinks for consumption at Agfair Broken Hill. All caterers and food vendors must comply with current health regulations and submit the Application to Sell Food and/or Drink at Temporary Events | Broken Hill City Council form.

Keeping in line with NSW’s single-use plastics rules, all single-use plastic straws, stirrers, cutlery, plates and bowls (without spill-proof lids), expanded polystyrene food service items like clamshells, cups and trays are banned.

Sustainable Alternatives include:

• Paper, bamboo or metal straws

• Wooden or reusable cutlery

• Compostable cardboard containers

• Reusable bags made from fabric, jute, or recycled paper
